ESOL Family Literacy Classes
Escuela de Familia, our family literacy program, is a collaboration with the Journey Institute's Family Center and Cristo Vive, the Hispanic Ministry at St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday mornings, the program focuses on Mothers and Preschoolers and includes:
- ESOL classes for mothers
- Preschool for 3-5 year olds
- Parenting support group for mothers
- Lunch for all participants
The morning program meets from 9:30am-12:30pm at the Family Center, 206 E. Murray Ave. It begins in August and continues until June.
Families may enroll in the program by coming to the first class on Monday, August 25, 2008, 9:30am.
Cristo Vive offers a companion program on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons (4-6pm) at St. Paul's United Methodist Church (2700 Roxboro Rd). Geared toward families with older children, it offers:
- Homework help and computer exploration for school-aged children
- Family play time for young children and parents
