08, DLC may ask you to serve up to 20 hours in August as preparation.

NC LiteracyCorps members are neither employees nor volunteers; they are members of a National Service Program. The Student Coalition for Action in Literacy Education (SCALE) will provide ongoing support for both members and community and campus-based sites through regular training, site visits, print resources, and conference calls.

Full-time NC LiteracyCorps Members will receive a living allowance of $12,000 for 1700 hours of service over 10-12 months, and upon satisfactory completion of service, an education award of $4725.00.
