Mission

The mission of the Durham Literacy Center is to empower Durham County residents who want to enrich their lives by improving their literacy skills.

The vision of the Durham Literacy Center is to promote the love of learning, the skill of solving problems, cultural diversity and the spirit of critical enquiry and to take pride in helping individuals acquire literacy skills needed to succeed in life. The Durham Literacy Center will improve the quality of life of Durham County residents by being a leader in the mobilization of functional and supportive resources. We will continue to create and enhance programs and partnerships that integrate information and provide literacy learning opportunities that increase individual skills and knowledge that lasts a lifetime.
