ESOL
Level 1-2:
Introductions & Personal Information
- Greetings and introductions (Hello, My name is, How are you, etc)
- Spell first name and last name (Alphabet)
- Ask and answer 'Where are you from?'
- State, read, write personal info on a form (name, address, phone #, birth date/place, SSN, sex, marital status, etc.)
Basic Communication
- Follow simple oral instructions: stand, sit, close the door, etc.
- Use simple polite expressions: please, thank you, you’re welcome, bless you, etc.
- Stating preferences: "I like...", "I don’t like…"
Classroom Communication
- Ask for help
- Express lack of understanding
- Ask someone to repeat or speak slower
- Dictionary Skills: Open to page 4, Listen, Repeat
- Classroom vocabulary – Basic OPD p. 2-3 / OPD p. 2-7
Family & People (Optional, if time)
- Family vocabulary
- Describing yourself and other people (using the verb 'to be')
Level 3:
