Here is more information about the wonderful professionals working at the Durham Literacy Center.
Reginald Hodges has a degree in education from NCCU. Reggie, as he prefers to be addressed, is a former Peace Corps Volunteer. Following Peace Corps service, he worked for 25 years in international development, primarily in Africa. Reginald has extensive experience with project design, project management, fund raising, training boards of directors and implementing community-based non-profit programs. Immediately prior to joining DLC in January 2005, he taught Adult Basic Skills at Alamance Community College.

Yashna Padamsee has a BA from Rhode Island School of Design in Film, Animation and Video. She is an artist and a yoga teacher. Yashna has been with the AL program at DLC since 2005. She believes in the strength of Durham, serving the community with heart, and that reading is the gateway to self empowerment.
Adult Literacy Tutor Trainer
Gardy Perard began working with the Durham Literacy Center in February of '06 as a volunteer tutor. In August 2006, Gardy completed the Augustine Project training where he learned an Orton-Gillingham based approach to reading instruction. Gardy has a background in engineering and mathematics and enjoys being a part of the Durham Community.
