ESOL Volunteers
ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages)
Who: Teach English to adult newcomers from Mexico, Central America, and all over the world. You do not need to be bilingual (but please let us know if you have language skills that could be helpful).
What: Our student-centered classes emphasize participatory language learning. Help students set goals and develop English listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in pursuit of these goals.
When: Monday -Thursday 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Commitment: Teach two hours per week for at least one semester (approx. 16 weeks).

Are you interested in helping young Latino children develop the skills they need to begin school? Our ESOL Family Literacy program needs volunteers!
What:Our Family Literacy program includes a preschool for 3-5 year-olds.
Help is needed in the preschool and providing childcare for infants and
toddlers while their parents are in ESOL class.
Where: The Family Center, 206 E. Murray Ave., Durham
When: Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays, 9:30am-12:30pm
More Info: It is NOT necessary to be multi-lingual
If you do speak another language, please state which one.
