Kyle

A few years ago, Kyle was a different person than he is today. He remembers waking up every day really depressed. During childhood, health issues caused him to miss a lot of classes, resulting in bad grades. He was bullied in school and eventually dropped out.

Then Kyle decided to turn his life around. He looked for GED classes and found the Durham Literacy Center. At first, he was nervous, but then he met the DLC's program staff. They made him feel comfortable about trying the Youth Education Program.

Kyle has now graduated with his high school equivalency diploma and started college. His younger sister enrolled in our program the following year, and their mom volunteers at the DLC and serves on our board of directors. We're incredibly grateful for the contributions of Kyle and his whole family to our DLC community!
